Think local, plant local.
Our friends at NPO Seirin have been actively working in the Hyuga, Miyazaki area to reforest single mono-culture forests with local species of trees. With the blessings of Takachiho Shrine, they have planted saplings that are found in Miyazaki prefecture - breaking from the planting of single species, most. commonly American Cedar.
With the help of the local children and community, we held the first of what should eventually grow to be a nation wide movement of bettering our forests - for the sake of both wild animals, the environment and for the people in those communities.
